August 15, 2002, marks Sweden's annual Sour Herring Premier. Since this event is held on the third Thursday in August, the date varies. The relevant Saint Report is August 17.

 

Saints o' the day include, but are not limited to, Saint Arnulf and Saint Tarsicius.

It is a big birthday day. Still celebrating are Princess Anne (1950), Mike Connors (whose real name is Krekor Ohanian, 1925), and Linda Ellerbee (1944). August 15 was the birthday of Ethel Barrymore (1879-1959), Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821), Edna Ferber (1887-1968), and Sir Walter Scott (1771-1832).

The baby who was born during Woodstock (1969) turns 33 sometime in the next three days. Far out! Of course, that is assuming there really was a baby born during Woodstock. There seems to be some doubt.
